Ione Minerals and it's predecessor companies have been mining, processing and supplying our customers with quality kaolin and kaolinitic clays since 1954.
In 2002, after 47 years of continuous operation at the Ione site, North American Refractories Co. declared bankruptcy. Immediately, Ione Minerals was incorporated to purchase the necessary assets to continue the air-floated kaolin clay business.
Our company is focused on niche markets primarily in the Western U.S., with a small but expanding export business. As our slogan states "We take pride in being a small company who honestly cares about their customers." We are dedicated to building strong long-term relationships with customers through our production of quality kaolin.
